It’s hard to believe we have two months left of school! Encourage your students to keep working hard through the end of the year.
In 6th grade guidance class this past month, we have been learning about digital safety. Through this unit, we have been working on identifying safe versus unsafe online activity. Students were taught about social media and how to keep information private. Coming up this next month, we will be focusing on a program called “Draw the Line/Respect the Line.” This program teaches students about peer pressure, limit setting, and refusal skills. These lessons are delivered by a program specialists. I believe that this information will be great for sixth graders and equip them for their future.
Hopefully, I will be able to join the 8th grade careers class this month to discuss four-year plans and work through My Academic Plan with them. I always enjoy getting to meet with students and interact with them in a variety of different ways.
One important event to be aware of is 8th grade parent night. 8th grade parent night will be on April 29 at 7:00. During this time, parents and students are invited to come to the school to ask questions, register for classes, and learn about the differences between junior high and high school. As the event gets closer, be looking for more information.
As always, feel free to reach out if you have any concerns or questions. I am happy to help in whatever way I can.
