School Delays & Closings
Living in rural Iowa, winter weather is a fact of life. At Murray Community Schools, the decision to delay or cancel school is never taken lightly. We understand that schedule changes disrupt family routines, but our top priority is always the safety of our students and staff. When severe weather hits, our team monitors road conditions—including rural gravel routes—temperatures, and forecasts in the early morning hours. If we cannot safely transport students, we will notify you immediately.
Digital Backpack
We are “going green” and decluttering your student’s backpack. The Murray Digital Backpack is your virtual folder for all district flyers, community event notifications, and extracurricular opportunities. Instead of searching for crumpled papers at the bottom of a bag, you can now access important information from local organizations, sports leagues, and community partners right here, 24/7.
