Grades K-5 Mathematics Curriculum
Our district utilizes Bridges in Mathematics for Kindergarten through 5th Grade. This rigorous program is designed to develop deep conceptual understanding alongside procedural fluency. Bridges focuses on the ability to solve problems in multiple ways, encouraging students to explain their thinking and listen to the reasoning of others. Through the rigorous daily practice of “Number Corner” and the deep dives of core units, students master the essential skills of arithmetic while developing the critical thinking skills of a mathematician.
Grades K-5 Literacy Curriculum
Our district is committed to evidence-based literacy instruction. We utilize Wonders, a research-based curriculum that rigorously addresses every aspect of the ELA standards. From intense phonics and phonological awareness in the early grades to complex text analysis and close reading in the upper elementary years, Wonders provides a structured path to proficiency. By integrating reading, writing, and speaking into every lesson, we ensure students develop the critical communication skills necessary for academic success.
Grades K-5 Science Curriculum
We are proud to implement OpenSciEd, a rigorous curriculum designed for the Next Generation Science Standards. This program shifts the focus from rote memorization to “three-dimensional learning.” Students engage in the practices of real scientists and engineers: asking questions, developing models, planning investigations, and analyzing data.
Grades 6 – 12 Mathematics Curriculum
Our mathematics department is dedicated to equipping students with the analytical skills necessary for future success. We have adopted EnVision Mathematics, a rigorous and research-based curriculum designed to balance conceptual understanding with procedural fluency. By leveraging EnVision’s adaptive technology and data-driven insights, we ensure that students not only master the standards but also learn to think critically, reason mathematically, and apply their knowledge to real-world engineering and scientific problems.
Grades 6 – 12 Literacy Curriculum
Our literacy instruction is grounded in the myPerspectives curriculum, a rigorous program designed to prepare students for the demands of college and career. This curriculum goes beyond reading comprehension; it teaches students to analyze complex arguments, synthesize information across multiple media types, and construct well-reasoned essays. By engaging with challenging texts and participating in structured academic discussions, students develop the critical thinking skills necessary to navigate a complex information landscape.
Grades 6 – 12 Science Curriculum
For our middle and high school students, science is more than just a subject—it is a pathway to the future. We utilize Inspire Science, a dynamic curriculum designed to spark curiosity and foster innovation. By grounding lessons in real-world phenomena and integrating career connections, Inspire helps students answer the question, “When will I ever use this?” Whether they are virtually dissecting a cell or engineering a solution to a local environmental challenge, students are actively building the problem-solving skills needed for tomorrow’s STEM careers.
Grades 6 – 12 Guidance Curriculum
Our district is committed to equipping students with the social-emotional toolkit necessary for the modern world. Through the Second Step curriculum, students engage in age-appropriate lessons that grow with them from Kindergarten through graduation. While early grades focus on listening and identifying feelings, our secondary program evolves to tackle complex challenges like goal setting, stress management, and bullying prevention. These lessons provide the foundation for resilience, helping students overcome obstacles and focus on their academic and career goals.
